Case Study

Halotel Tanzania.

Background

Halotel launched in Tanzania with a strong rural to urban strategy offering fast 4G services. With strong competition from existing top telecom players, Halotel had a challenge in breaking the existing “community advantage” and capturing the Youth. The competition was expensive and quality was a challenge.

Engagement

We developed a 360 acquisition campaign that highlighted the key strengths of the new network. With lowers pricing, no drop-off calls, and faster data: Move to Halotel. It just makes sense!

Results

The Campaign ran between April and June 2017.

  • Customer growth 500,000
  • Customer Base March 2017 – 3,499 Million
  • Customer Base June 2017 – 3,988 Million

Case Study

TTCL Corporation.

Background

TTCL had launched its new brand positioning of the T-Generation with a new logo in line with the transformation to become a major mobile player and add mobile money to its portfolio. While T-Generation was a forward-thinking positioning, it did not resonate well nor did TTCL have a clear digital strategy as part of the re-brand.

Engagement

Our approach was to re-connect with the history of TTCL and give it a modern twist. In looking at the customer insights we developed new Thematic, Rudi Nyumbani. Our campaign was digitally driven to drive awareness of TTCL’s new core service and making things possible with T-Pesa.

Results

Successfully relaunch Facebook (5K to 55K followers), Instagram (0 to 15K followers), and Twitter (500 to 4K followers) Pages for TTCL. Working with Customer Care, digital became the go-to channel for customers by deploying call agents to focus on online customer interactions.

To date, TTCL has adopted the “Rudi Nyumbani” as its Brand Slogan.

Case Study

M-Bet Tanzania.

Background

M-bet was the first mobile gaming company to launch via the USSD channel as the only mobile operator in Tanzania via Vodacom M-Pesa. By 2016, there were other players who launched in Tanzania using the web and mobile APPs and M-bet needed to accelerate growth and maintain its leadership position. M-Bet had requested for an engagement to drive acquisition and player uptake for their markets including Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia and DRC. The engagement kicked off just before Covid-19 lead to the closure of football worldwide hence leading to loss of business for Sportbooks worldwide.

Engagement

Jackson Group was engaged to revamp the M-Bet brand with a digitally driven approach with limited budgets from pre-Covid 19 period. As part of the engagement Jackson Group launched Simulated Reality League across all the four markets, introduced Quick Games in Tanzania, Zambia and DRC. When football returned, the comeback campaign was launched across all markets.

The work in Tanzania led to Jackson Group successfully launching M-bet in Kenya, Uganda and Zambia.

Results

M-bet became re-enforced their leadership position for on-mobile gaming operators and shifted more than 90% of their player from USSD to the M-bet website. The engagement also led to M-bet having the highest online engagement with customers and created the most trusted Online betting brand in Tanzania.
